ENGLISH BELOW
Gerade bin ich fuer ein Stuendchen Zuhause und will die Zeit nutzen um euch ein bisschen ueber die letzte Zeit zu erzaehlen.
Wir haben gestern alle etwas ueber unser Land und unsere Kultur erzaehlt. Es war total interessant ueber die verschiedenen Laender (Faroe Islands, Holland, Irland, Brasilien) zu hoeren. Ich habe ein bisschen ueber den Nationalsozialismus erzaehlt und ueber Eigenschaften der Deutschen, die mich beeinflussen. (Danke fuer eure Ideen und Hilfe Markus, Sabine, Mama und Papa - das hat mir echt geholfen)
Da haetten wir zum Beispiel Genauigkeit, Puenktlichkeit, Ordnung...oder auch das Verlangen danach, Dinge im Vorraus zu planen und zu wissen, sowie sicher sein zu wollen (da muss man sich nur mal die vielen Verischerungen und so was anschauen) Manchmal kann das auch ein Hindernis sein, da man Gott nicht 100 % vertraut.
Ich habe natuerlich auch deutlich gemacht, dass Deutschland das "Land der Dichter und Denker" genannt wird, und Literatur, Wissenschaft, Bildung, Kunst, Recht, Umwelt etc. einen hohen Massstab hat.
Jedenfalls war das alles sehr interessant!!
Ach, eine Sache moechte ich mit euch teilen.
Ich bin absolut begeistert, wie Gott Gebete erhoert. Letzte Woche, als wir die Maedels in den Bordellen besucht haben, haben wir ueber eine halbe Stunde mit einem Maedchen ( Jordan ) gesprochen. Es war absolut unglaublich. Sie war sehr ehrlich mit uns. Sie arbeitet 6 Tage die Woche 24 Stunden, ohne das Sonnenlicht zu sehen.
Wir haben Nummern ausgetauscht und wollten uns eigentlich HEUTE schon mit ihr treffen. Sie war total begeistert und wir hoffen, dass wir einfach eine Freundschaft aufbauen koennen und ihr dann schnellstmoeglich anbieten koennen, sie da raus zu holen.
Aber wir haben merkwuerdige Sms von ihr bekommen, und wir sind immer sicherer, dass sie gegen ihren Willen dort arbeiten muss und festgehalten wird. (human trafficking - Menschenhandel - es ist absolut grausam!!!)
Bitte betet fuer Jordan! Sie ist genauso alt wie ich (19) und hat das alles echt nicht verdient.
Wer weiss, wie oft wir noch die Moeglichkeit haben werden sie zu sehen...morgen koennte sie schon weg sein!!
Das hat mich zunaechst etwas entmutigt und stutzig gemacht, aber dann, im Gespraech mit Jilly (eine der 6 Interns von Irland), haben wir festgestellt, dass Gott ja nie gesagt hat, geht hinaus, rettet und veraendert diese Welt. Das steht gar nicht in unserer Macht, das geht gar nicht!
Aber dennoch koennen wir etwas machen. Wir koennen, da wo jeder einzelne von uns ist, einen Unterschied machen, und Hoffnung bringen, helfen, einen Samen in Menschen pflanzen....und der Rest bleibt Gott ueberlassen.
Versteht ihr was ich meine? Also mich hat das dann wieder ERmutigt :) Und mir nochmal mehr Motivation gegeben, hier in Houston alles zu geben, in Menschen zu investieren und fuer sie da zu sein. Nicht nur an einem Donnerstag mal an Jordan zu denken, sondern taeglich fuer sie zu beten, und bereit zu sein fuer sie da zu sein.
Unser Team ist jetzt vollstaendig:
Jilly (Irland), Marjun (Faroe Islands), Timroy (Holland), Joshua (Michigan USA), Marquinhos (Brasilien), und Ich. Wir sind so ne tolle Gruppe und verstehen uns mega gut!
Indien rueckt immer naeher. In den letzten zwei Wochen im Mai soll die Reise statt finden. Ich bin immer noch nicht sicher, ob ich gehen kann. Aber I'll keep praying.
Die letzte Wochen waren wir also viel unterwegs, haben uns mit Obdachlosen unterhalten, ihnen Essen und Decken gebracht, Prostituierte besucht, mit Kindern gebastelt und mit Teenagermaedels gequatscht, WoodsEdge Gottesdienste besucht, Mitarbeiter-meetings besucht, witzige Zeiten mit unserem Team gehabt, und VIEL gebetet (eine weitere Sache, die ich hier gelernt haben, es ist so wichtig zu beten! Da muss ich immer an meine Freundin Mia denken, die mir das Lied "Prayer is the master key" vorgesungen hat :) Danke Mia. That is so true)
Sorry, dass es so lange gedauert hat, aber hab in letzter Zeit nicht die Zeit gefunden.
Ich denke an euch alle und vermisse euch! Gott segne euch ganz arg!

Right now I'm home for a little and I wanna use this time to tell you about the last weeks. Yesterday we all talked about our country and its culture. It was interesting to hear about the different countries (Faroe Islands, Holland, Ireland, Brasil, and a life of a missionary kid)
I talked a little about the national socialism, about the history and culture of Germany and how its affects me.
So for example that the Germans are known to be accurate, punctual, tidy, and diligent...as well as the desire to know things in advance. Germans wanna be safe and want to be in control. (just look at all the different insurances - crazy). Sometimes this can be a hinderance, because you don't really trust God.
I hope that I also gave the team an impression about how beautiful Germany is. How its called "the land of poets and thinkers", and how literature, science, eduacation, arts, economy and many other areas are advanced and an example to other countries.
So all in all, the little talks were real interesting.
I also wanna share something with you, that's really on my heart. I'm absolutely overwhelmed how God hears our prayers. Last week we went into the brothels again and we talked with a girl (Jordan) over half an hour. it was so amazing. She was really honest with us (well, at least in sometimes). She works 6 days a week 24 hours, without being allowed to go outside and see the sunshine.
We exchanged cell numbers and we acutally wanted to meet her TODAY. She was really excited about meeting us and having some friends outside of this world she's in. Cause in this crazy world she's in, she doesn't really have any friends either.
well, we hope we can build up a friendship with her and also tell her about the option of getting her out of there.
UNFORTUNATELY, we couldn't meet her today. She sent us some really weird text messages, saying that she has to work and stuff. we think she really is stuck in there! (Human trafficking!!)
Please be praying for Jordan!!! She is my age (19) and she really does not deserve a life like this.
We don't know when we will see her again. Tomorrow she could be gone already, sold, or dragged to another brothel. It is absolutely awful!! We're praying for her every single day, we wanna see her set free, happy and living life with Jesus!
Last week we met Matt Shepherd and he told us about his ministry. It was really cool to hear what he's doing. In the beginning he was talking about the big issues in the world...he listed so many, that I got kinda overwhelmed. I mean, where can you start in this crazy world?? Does it actually help to do something, there are just too many crimes, and too much agony and injustice in this world. So that kinda made me thought... As I talked with Jilly about it, we figured that God never commanded us to go out and CHANGE this evil world. He didn't say that. We CAN'T change the world. That is beyond our power. BUT, (here comes the but) we CAN do something. We CAN make a difference and be a light in this dark world. Wherever we are, we can help, bring hope and love, plant a seed in the hearts of people...and the rest is up to GOd. He can change lives, He alone can change the world. We don't have an excuse!! Do you know what I'm trying to say?
I thought that is great! We don't have to be overwhelmed, we can just do what God tells us to do! This little thought gave me even more motivation to give everything here in Houston! To INVEST into people. To really be there for them. Not only to think about people on this very "ministry-thursday", but also to pray for example for Jordan every day.
Our team is now complete: We got Jilly (Ireland), Marjun (Faroe Islands), Timroy (Holland), Josh (Michigan), Marquinhos (Brasil) and Me. We are a great group and we have loads of fun together. So cool, how GOd brought the six of us here together.
The India trip will be in the last two weeks of may. I am still not sure if I'll be able to go. But please keep praying for that.
So the last week we've done so many cool things. We've had the chance to meet and talk to homeless people, bring them food and blankets, visit prostitutes, spent time with kids, do crafts with them, talk to Teenager girls, visit Woodsedge Church services (which are always AMAZING!!!), go to Staff-meetings, have fun times with our team and PRAY a lot! (That's also something I've learned here...It is SO important to pray! "prayer is the master key" :)
Sorry it took so long this time...I'm trying to keep y'all posted!
