More Experiences!!! 2nd week in Houston!

ENGLISH BELOW!

Dann natuerlich STREET CHURCH. Das Wetter war Gott sei Dank besser dieses Mal.
Ich war wieder bei den Kids. Ach, das is so was Besonderes.

Also Street Church war wieder mal echt gesegnet.

Lots of Love!!!
Eure Lisa

I quickly want to tell you about the last couple of days...

As I mentioned already, we've spent the nights at the church this week. We had great times with the families, that were staying there to do the program I told you earlier about.

On tuesday, we had our big "VALENTINE'S PARTY" at the womens-ministry. That was so much fun. During the day I helped Dawn, who leads this ministry, to prepare some stuff for it. We had food, games, roses, gift bags, fellowship, a small input, a video and pictures. I think the women there loves it! They are so funny! When I got there the first time, they welcomed me so warmly and included me in the "family". They have a fun texan-slang and its just so much fun to hang out with them and get to know them better.

On wednesday, we had "Meet the celebritys" for the first time. It actually means, that we are getting to know different ministries and churches in the area and meet the pastors, so they can show us their churches and tell us about their life and their ministry.
This time we met Jason Shepherd and he has started a church, which has 200 people coming on a sunday already - after one two 4 weeks. He showed us his church and told us about his ministry, which was really inspiring.

Then we had STREET CHURCH again. Thank God, that the weather was a little better.
I was with the kids again. That is something so special!! I can hardly describe how great those times are and how they bless me so much. It brings so much joy into my heart to be with them. You get such a big love for these kids, and you just want them to be safe, and you want to hold them tight. This time I've spent a lot of time with two 6 year old girls. Wow, this time with them was amazing. We read so many books together and we incredible conversations. They had so many questions about God, Jesus, heaven. We also had this picture of God in one book. God's hand holding a child. They were amazed by that. So I explained to them, that God IS holding us right now and that he is with us right now. The one girl looked into the sky and said: "I love you,God." That was so wonderful hearing her say that.
But then again, it is HEARTBREAKING when you think about what these kids went through already. One of the two girls, was sexually abused and I don't think she feels very loved where she's at right now. She went to Marjun and askedher if she can sleep a little on her lap. that was so sweet. She just wanted to be safe and sound. I'm praying so hard for this little one, that God might RESCUE her and pour his love unto her!

Another baby was really hungry again. She was SO adorable and cute with her cheeks and everything! But its so sad how she was almost starving.
So Street Church was really blessed again. We had a little teaching of Andrew from our team, worship and food!

Thursday we had a team meeting. And at church there was a new family that had arrived. A single mom with 4 kids (5,6,7,8 years old). They are very sweet and it was great to be able to spend some time with them!

Friday we went to "the Bridges". We made bible verses for the kids and laminated them. It was John 3:16. The kids will have the chance to get a new skateboard, but in order to get it, they have to learn 8 skateboard tricks and learn 8 bible verses by heart :) so the boys were really excited agian and already tried to memorize the verse. I also tried the tint ramp this time and just fell once.

The "Montrose-Outreach" was a little different this time. It was FREEZING cold outside. We didn't go to Montrose but close to that we went to give out food, and drinks to homeless people living under the bridges. There were probably about 30 of them. We gave them hot chocolate, cookies, soap, shampoo and blankets. It was so cool, to have the opportunity to talk to them and pray with them. And so many of them were just greatful for all that. but it was SO cold, I really had compassion with them and was just so sad to see all that. I pray that God might protect them.

So this week has been great so far, and especially the time with the families at church. I think the families just felt really comfortable there and hopefully were blessed by us.

I think about you all back in Germany and I miss you. But right now I don't want to be anywhere else in the world, than here in Houston to serve the people and seek God.

I've also finished 1.Samuel. I'm listening to it on audio and its just like in a movie. I love it. it's soo interesting to look especially at David's life.

Lots of love,
Lisa
